About me…

I am…
A body. One that likes moving
A queer, trans human
A daddy dyke
A citizen of the world
A migrant
A life-long learner
A lover of feeling - emotional and physical

I am an artist working in the field of dance, movement and live performance. My artistic interest draws from queer theories & philosophical enquiries, and emerges out of questions around identity and our existence as humans, exploring our place in the world - as beings, as well as in relation to others and in relation to nature and our surroundings. I wear multiple hats across my work: as a performer, facilitator, maker & choreographer, researcher and creative producer. I enjoy working collaboratively and interdisciplinarily, as well as working in spaces that are not traditional theatre spaces.

I strongly believe in the power of the performing arts to imagine spaces and realities that challenge, reconsider and redesign societal structures and systems; and in the distinctive role dance and movement play in this by centering the embodied experience. Through my work, I want to create and facilitate space for being, listening, sharing experiences and sparking conversations through movement and performance; be a welcoming, shared space for celebrating difference and for celebrating the body as what allows us to navigate and experience the world.

I am currently busy with questioning and exploring what it means to centre queerness & transness in the way that I approach the body, movement, my work, and working practices; starting from ideas and thinking on Queer Utopias, and continuing into the paths this research is taking me into. More on this in my (slowly developing) blog.

You can listen to a conversation about my current practice and research around ideas of Queer Utopias with Dr. Ruth Pethybridge, in this episode of Ruth’s Dance Futures podcast (recorded in September 2022, when this research was still emerging and finding its feet!)
